The good-looking one with the debonair flair?

That's him. I thought it was a dead-set ringer for a young Ian Murray then I realised he appeared to have a clue whilst looking at a chessboard and so I disabused myself of the notion ;)

I have been remiss in not posting - I meant to acknowledge on this board that excellent commemorative booklet you put together for 100 years of Qld Open - read it cover to cover a couple of weeks ago. Second time I've read it - ve enjoyable. Even pinched some material for BCC web-site.

Modesty prevents me from revealing his identity

You meant 100 years of Qld Championships of course. Queensland Chess Championships 1895 - 1995 - a booklet I cobbled together with significant assistance from the late Ken Fraser, former custodian of the Anderson Collection at Vic State Library.

In case I miss the next centenary, perhaps you could do the honours then?

The one on the right, smoking the pipe, I think is Octavian Sencariuc from Townsville. His opponent is Ken Barker.
