Are Juniors Denoted By Small Avatars?

Do you mean like the little stars were asterisks in that comedy, when I played the wrong move in that Tromp game against you then took my move back and whipped you?

I just read in todays SMH how the company that owns Asterisk is blueing over the old man selling shares, the daughter reakons that Asterisk is her paper brother. That is the show I was watching when playing Gunnar and was so distracted I put his piece on wrong square and made wrong move then took back - serves him right for playing a Lebo

Maximum avatar size is a function of number of posts. Does that answer your question?

So, the bigger your postcount, the bigger your thingie! (aka avatar).

How come Bill doesn't have a reallly huge one then? Or is he just being modest? :P ;)

How do you make your username bold?

User name is inversely proportional to the size of your signature. ;)

It will become bold on the attainment of 200 posts.

It's 500 now, except for those who got 200 up before we changed it.

Currently black = either site staff or premium user. It is not postcount-determined.

Lol, I'm still just less than halfway there, why did they have to increase the number of posts for a bold title? :(

how do you change the "title" next to your name to something other than CC Fide Master, CC International Master etc?

I don't believe you can (as a member) unless you are a premium member (or an admin).

Someone who has contributed $25 (I think) per annum to assist with the running costs of the board AND has managed to successfully interface with the board's owner (which I haven't - it was like pulling teeth (or dealing with Telstra) and I gave up).

These people are identified by their names appearing in black - they can give you the inside running.

Skip used to chat with some of us on Xchat but he got rid of it due to a lack of interest.
He is too busy doing other stuff to be much interested here.
Rincewind may be able to help you more.

What's a premium member?

Many moons ago in the history of ChessChat, members were given the opportunity to become Premium Members by donating money. Some members took up this option and so we became divided into the haves and have-nots. The haves get various privileges apart from being able to change their 'title' such as invisibility when logged in.

These days, if you are are a have-not (as most of us are), you are doomed to that fate.

If I was interested in becoming a premium member I would try and contact Skip via email or PM. If you have no luck I could try to contact him on your behalf. If Skip is not interested in pursuing it at the present time then it will remain an historical oddity.

Can avatars get any smaller these days? :hmm:
Does it get larger every post I make (doesn't seem so) or larger on the attainment of 500 posts?

It would help if you choose an avatar which a square or almost square aspect ratio. You are limited to 50 pixels width in both directions so 50x50 maximises the number of pixels (2500). Currently you are only using 1750 of your 2500 pixel allowance.

I can't find a square picture though, and how many pixels are you allowed after 500 posts (almost there)
