What's a good website that describes the rules to Bridge. I'm having trouble understanding them.

What's a good website that describes the rules to Bridge. I'm having trouble understanding them.

This (http://web3.acbl.org/internet/websiteForms.nsf/ltpbForm?OpenForm) American site has a couple of free demonstration programs that explain things.

Or Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract_bridge) might be worth trying.

The basic idea is that you play with a partner, against another pair.
All 52 cards are dealt, 13 to each player. Firstly, the auction: The auction consists of each player in turn (if they choose - they can also Pass) naming a suit and a number of tricks they plan to make with the named suit as trumps. Each bid in the auction must be higher than the previous bid. When the auction is finished, play begins. The person who won the auction tries to make as many tricks as they contracted for during the auction.

Um, perhaps that is not so clear - you might be better off trying one of these websites, else if you have any specific questions ask them here.

You can buy a 2nd hand copy of Goren's New Bridge Complete (paperback) for very little money from amazon or betterworldbooks. It may not be the best Bridge book there is. But IMHO you will get a more thorough introduction than you are likely to get from a web site.
