Hi guys,
I'm interested in knowing who else uses ChessTempo.com (http://chesstempo.com/). My username there is "dougy." It's a tactics training website much like Chess Tactics Server (http://chess.emrald.net/).

I would like to take a peek and see how my performance is compared to others and how useful (or not) other people find that site.

One of my favourites. I recommend it to anyone who asks about improving their chess.

This site looks really good, thanks Dougy.

I have only had a quick look, registered an account, and solved a couple of problems but it looks handy.

Especially handy for me as my XP machine at home is RIP and my new Vista laptop will not let me install 'Chess Tactics for the Intermediate Player' or 'Cehss Strategy for the Intermediate Player'.

So yeah - looks handy and a bit more fun the the old Fred Reinfeld handbook (I can save that for the train).

cheers
Garrett.

I have registered too as missionmankiwi.

Hoping it will prove very useful.

I lke the site alot. I think I get a slightly different spin on the problems that I cannot solve than from books, and I think the function of being asked to find alternate solutions is good. It is also very easy to go back to the problems that one failed on. The problem ratings don't correlate with my tactical abilities and lacks that well, more of a rough guide.

I have registered as Ralph Sertez. It seems very good. Thank you for the suggestion.

do you think solving all those puzzles has helped your chess Dougy ?

I have completed 49 standard problems now (username: Garrett).

Looks like our standard ratings are similar which is fair enough as I think our ACF ratings are close too.

Cheers
Garrett.

It certainly has helped me solve some of the more complicated tactics... however I noticed that my ability to spot simple things is not as good these days. (: Somewhat odd...

I really like the site. However, I cannot register because below the Requred Detals the field is blank. I can do the Tatics ok just not register.
