I resign Ax. My position is stuffed, already down in material and have to choose between mate and losing another piece. Anyway, my ACF is 1342.

My first mistake I believe is 16...Nc7. As you showed, that d pawn is easily defended. A better idea might have been 16...Nc5, 17...Bf5 and 18...Bxf2. I saw this but had my doubts and thought an idea of 17..Nb5 (in the main line) would have been better.

My next mistake was 20...Bxc3. I was caught in chess blindness. Yes, the Possum threw sand in my eyes. If 21.Nxc3 or 21.Bxc3 my 21...Qh6 would have worked nicely, I forgot that you have 21.bxc3, keeping your dark squared bishop defended.

Generally, maybe I sacrificed too many pawns in the middle game, but I folllowed Jono's advice from the last game and got a better game overall. I think I was better for a while, but began to falter with 16...Nc7. 23.e6 was a good move and white is winning the game easily from here on.

17...exf4 18.Bxf4 and white would have been able to defend his passed pawn with d6. I almost had the queen trapped with 19..Bg4 but white had 20.Nxf6+, removing the bishop's defender with check. With 21.bxc3 I think white was better.

My whole idea of 8...Na6 was to keep the c-file open, which I didn't use in any of my plans so it was a bit wasteful.

I thought forcing open the center was the idea in this game. I would have gotten good play on the center with my pieces well developed (relative to white's pieces). That idea of course, allows white some counterplay on the kingside. I never thought of closing the center. 12...d4 13.Ne2 is a good idea, keeping the backward pawn from moving. 13...Bb5 and 14...Nc5 is an idea I considered in the game but never got the chance to implement it.
