Saw this amusing debacle in a club game between two 1400s. White has about 10 mins left at the start of this sequence, Black about 30. The lesson for both sides: unless you are critically short of time, always calculate any exchanges into pure pawn endings.

1.Kc3! {The only move even worth trying, threatening to take the rook on b4 or else clean up the pawns.} a3! {Correctly leaving the rook en prise.} 2.Rxb3! {Now Black should leave his rook en prise again and win with ...a2! Instead his courage deserts him} 2...Bxb3?? 3.Kxb4 Bc2 4.Kxa3 {But now there is still worse.} 4...Be4?? 5.g3?? {and Black ended up winning after several small errors from White in time trouble allowed him to get his king around and clean up the d4-pawn.} (5.Nxe4! {and Black loses because, among other things} 5...dxe4 6.Kb4 Kd7 7.Kc3 Kc6 8.Kd2 Kd5 (8...g5 9.g4) 9.Ke3 {is zugzwang}.)

KB,

is it best to select "snail speed" when using [automatic replay] for any of the games you post ?

Yes I noticed that yesterday and wondered how many milliseconds it would take someone to attempt a joke about it.
