Jeo

Is it just me, or the time of the day, but since whatever you did yesterday, the BB screens download through my dial-up about 30% faster and no time-outs.

Errr...Mr K. supreme sir.

Not so quick on the download tonight with all these interlopers in the registered and guest status.
Now, either you put a bit more grunt in the server, or I get Matt back to cull a few off the score-board.

Loading just fine for me, and no, I'm not going to put anything more into this forum, I'm already pouring money into it. If anything I have to consider downgrading and cutting back on features.

At least half of the threads could be culled, if that would help the problem. Does it help if we adopt the homepage? Anything else we can do?

I don't really see a problem at the moment, it's working as usual. If it's slow, then it's a local network issue. I tried pushing 10Mbps with no problem, and the server is capable of 100Mbps. Also, obviously it's not a hardware issue, you can see the CPU usage above.

K.

I could easily believe it was my ISP as the source of the problem.

Just thought I would report it, anyway.

starter,

I'm logged on via dialup modem until further notice. I'm currently on a ~50K connection via Telstra BigPond ... this forum is very snappy and responsive, only marginally less so than I used to get on my ADSL/broadband connection.

Mebbe its your ISP? Or check to see if you have Windows 'automatical updates' running, as it might be downloading security patches at the time you're trying to read the board. Also consider getting a good anti-spyware tool (e.g. AdAware) just in case you're infected with some nasties!

Cheers,

S.

Thanks Steve for the suggestions.

Session at 10pm last night was OK. In other words, intermittent fault. So, K.'s explanation that it is in my ISP is most likely. Was just me, judging from the fact that no-one else posted.

I would be happy to say sayonara to the Coffee Lounge. Not used since 3/1 anyway.
