Dortmund is on us once again, starting July 29.

Cast your vote for who you think will win.

http://dortmund.chessgate.de/

Website is in German. I think the tournament is single round robin from looking at the draw, which would be surprising for only eight participants.

Kevin,

Are you going to run your usual 'book' on this event?

My money is on Aronian:hmm:

$20 says Kramnik will at least tie first.

Kramnik has to be favourite out of this bunch.

My prediction is that he doesn't lose a game but that Svidler will come closest, not finding the correct continuation and allowing kramnik to draw.

I see ppl have mentioned money bets, which leads me to think that maybe posters think that Kevin actually runs a book on the event from my earlier post

Previously, posters would put in their tips for the result of each game. Kevin would then add up the totals and award a winner at the end.

All draws in a round is the default and cant be chosen by the tipsters.

Domagoi, which website are you betting at?

i am not actually betting, i am just suggesting what i would bet on...

i got to this website by googling betting in chess, clicked on bet in chess, and on that page i found information which lead me to www.betsson.com, when i got into that page i clicked on exchange and scroll down to chess...

this is the only website i have found anything on betting, but as the tournament gets closer, i am sure i will find some more...

well, it is a good bet, but do you really think he will win... i guess if you want a roughie, you can put $5 on adams to win.. probably waste of $5 though...

My money would be on him to place in the top 3, him winning it isn't out of the question either.

Even Kramnik at $5 is a good bet

$5 on Kramnik looks excellent value, as does $4.5 on Leko.

Whats the deal?

I thought fide recognised Topalov as their classical world chess champion.

So why is fide's own website saying on the home page in response to Kramnik's win that he is the classical world chess champion?

Well since FIDE have brokered a reunification match between Kramnik and Topalov, they must obviously recognise Kramnik's title. And besides, they probably don't want to piss him off at this point.
