Axiom,

Sometimes an opposum runs on the trees near our house. He said he'd be intrested in fighting the cat. As close proximity encounter might be lethal, the abovementioned opposum was very keen on correspondence option and asked me to pass this message to you.

I guess if Axiom gets some help from Possum its only fair!

I am under-rated by the way due to having given a few lowly-rated juniors queen odds in comp games and losing - and have never been in an opportunity to re-earn points. And I am on notice if repeat such I will be barred from playing. Almost as bad as those norm points you missed out on.

(any other way we can pollute this thread? My next move was going to be D5)

By losing to those juniors by giving queens odds in actual tournaments games shows that you overated yourself and underated them.

It was a comedial situation really. I asked Junior A how did he against the junior standing over there, he told that he won easily. I usually beat Junior A easily so I gave queen odds against Junior B to make interesting. Well, lo and behold, we were referring to different juniors, looking from different angles. And that particular junior very recently defeated a 2200 rated adult player. So M Baron better watch out. So actually the junior was another one of those ruddy %%$$## under-rated juniors.

I gave a few more queen odds and threw a game or two against juniors. But don't tell anyone.

I could ask that junior to suggest a few moves for Mike.

many may say that vassia is simply a cat, and therefore somewhat limited re chessplaying skill, however mr.goldenburg among other insiders supports the contention, that vassia may indeed be slightly stronger than michael himself...... im sure michael would not mind me disclosing this, as he is very proud of vassia's talents.

Vasia is undoubtly stronger than me. Besides, Vasia is only 1 year old (Igor's Possum may be even younger though :hmm: ).

I passed a text of the game to my (well, not mine, just a neighbour) possum (I call him Nuisance for obvious reasons).

Nuisance said cats could be very dangerous (from his past experience, I guess), but there is always a way to defeat them (could it be from his life experience as well?). Go figure. I guess we, human, cannot understand those animals.

Just wondering because it doesn't sound familiar and my dictionary has the word "vapid" originating in the mid-17th century. I'm sure the etymologists wouldn't have missed a Shakespeare reference, but you never know.
