Hi all,

I am trying to load rybka in winboard via the Polyglot 1.4 uci2wb adapter but the engine just exits unexpectedly every time.(I have managed to load all other uci engines this way with no problems)

Does anyone have a solution for this?:confused:

Here is my rybka.ini file contents for ur reference:

[PolyGlot]

EngineName = Rybka
EngineDir = C:\Program Files\Chess\Engines\Rybka v1.0
EngineCommand = Rybka.exe

Log = false
Resign = true
ResignMove = 3
ResignScore = 900

[Engine]

Hash = 256
OwnBook = false
Playing Style = Very Positional

I haven't used Rybka with winboard but I have used it with scid which requires polyglot too.

Here is what I have...

[PolyGlot]

EngineDir = C:\Program Files\Rybka
EngineCommand = Rybka.exe

[Engine]

Hash = 64

Seems to work but sometime takes some time before getting back to SCID with a suggested move.

Isn't Rybka a UCI engine (therefore not going to work with Winboard)?

With Arena I found it only displays best move. The variety stops with what it thinks are best twenty or so lines, all starting with the same move. With chessbase and fritz I can see few candidate moves.

The purpose of Polyglot is to sit between and make a UCI engine appear to behave like a xboard engine.

That's what it is all about, Igor.
