Does anyone happen to organise chess camps in australia, particularly in NSW? it would be great for juniors or adults at least, something like a tournament but not a very big event but it could get adults and juniors involved which would be great

The only one I know of is the Ergas National Junior Squad camp, which is invitation only.

My understanding is squad membership is governed by a process of competitive application. Non-squad members can be invited to the camps.

TCA held a successful weekend training camp in the first weekend of May - organised by Russell Horton who is our new junior officer and with coaches including new state champion Tony Dowden.

I think Tasmania have found a good junior officer there. Russell is a good guy and a doer.

I think Chess Kids used to have a Chess Holiday Program open to all juniors. I presume the program is still up and running.

They used to have a Holiday Program run by moi but it was not a chess camp as such, but various chess activities held at a local school. Emphasis on having fun and socialising rather than becoming a GM.
