Will there be an update for this rating period of tournaments received so far? :)

Dear Garvin,

I can suggest one of two approaches to this question.

1: players could post of the tournaments that they know are to be submitted by their club/s and / or a listing from their State Rating officer, which might be distributed by email prior to the list finishing.

2: Ask Bill; he may have received some tournaments already.

Take care and God Bless, Macavity

PS I have sent in the Melbourne Chess Club Open, the Frankston Chess Club Championships, and as cheap insurance, The Geelong Open to Milic. He has also no doubt received the files for the Elwood Community Bank Bendigo Bank Weekender. As I have said those involved in an admin role at their club may know what has or hasn't been submitted.

PPS To talk of such events just might be a giveaway of who they are in the case of our anonymous brethren though... :hmm:

Funny it doesn't seem to do that to me ... its gone up for three consecutive quarters ... this one should be the fourth. Of course, if it doesn't, then it'll be me accusing the rating system of being ridiculous.

now now frosty, dont be silly. Of course it has nothing to do with maybe that Dodophil didnt achieve the scores that his 'rating' suggests he should. I would love to see him attempt to apply to play in the australian championship based on rating ;)

It is my understanding that the ratings I have received from the ACT, WA, SA, TAS and QLD are complete.

I am still expecting events from Victoria.

I am also expecting the Fishers Ghost, the Parramatta Club Championship and the Nth Sydney V St. George Big Board match from NSW.

As such I do not expect the ratings to be available before 1am Dec 1st.

Hello, Bill

Malcolm Belletty is correct and I should know having run many tournaments with him as a participant ( he is my friend too!!)

I am fairly confidant of the two Dandenong players listed, but will ask them tomorrow night to check for you.

On a side note, Frank Silas, who was in WA and is now resident in Victoria, wishes to be listed as Pranas Silas, as this is his real name, on future rating lists. I believe him to be currently 1850. Pranas actually translates as Frank, which is why he previously used this form; nowadays with the variety of names...

in any case, hope this has been of some use,

Take care and God Bless, Macavity

Thank you for the prompt reply,
I will volunter to inform you in the future about Victorian players if I may.By the way Carl Gorka from England has settled in MELBOURNE and in my opinion should be moved to the top -players list.

I note however that having not played since the Sept 2003 rating period he played in the Geelong Open and the Hobson's Bay/yarraville Best in the West Tournaments during the current rating period.

So perhaps even if he had left he has returned.

Best regards,
LeonidNot that I doubt what you say but any such changes really should come via the State Rating Officers as they are in the best position to determine the accuracy of each individual situation.

After all I have heard reports of players supposedly going to be residents who have had their visa applications for permanent residency refused.

In Teichmann's case I'll move him to the OS list and Gorka to the VIC list.
