Hello all,
Today ,exactly twenty years ago Garry Kasparov won historical 24th game of his match against Anatoly Karpov and became 13th World Champion.I was lucky to watch history in making life as I was Moscow correspondent ,writing for two Latvian newspapers.I hope that this date November 9th 1985 will not be forgotten in chess history.

Thanks, Leonid. It certainly is an historic day.

I think the Beatles had a song...

It was twenty years ago today,
Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play... ;)

That was the last time the chess world agreed that we had a new world champion. Sigh.
