View Full Version : TCN Vs. Careth

Hey everybody, I would like to play black against a player who plays 1.d4, to try and improve my counterplay.

Could you please respond with your moves at the latest 3 days after the opponent has made their move. If you cannot make this deadline, tell the opponent in those 3 days and you gain another 2 days (maximum 3 times, or the game could go forever).

If you dont make the deadline, the opponent can claim a win. Good luck :) .

Personally, I dunno what I am doing, other than the opening name. Then its all improvisation. The fun part.

Potential sac, ehh? Interesting. To counter your sacrifice I must do something equally blunderish or brilliant-ish. So,

Haven't you heard Fischer's famous quote "e4 is best"? Give up the position type d4 opening - they will only lead to boring chess.

And where does this leave 1.Nf3 players?

Careth
16-11-2005, 06:07 PM
Arrogant-One, I also think 1.e4 is better, but many of my opponents like playing 1. d4, so I wanted to play to learn more. I asked any player (TCN, in this case), to play that opening, so we dont know what he would have played if I hadnt limited him.

Well..... I find e4 boring and i find d4 more interesting. It suits my style of game. :hand:

Trently, if you insert Bxe44444444444444444444444444444444 it might work.
1. e4 is Stylish - 1.d4 is rather like a sack of Spuds.

I find e4 easier to play, although want to learn d4- I find it a strong opening that often beats me- but that may be the fact most opponents who play this against me are at least 1500. :hmm:

What is a easy- little theory opening involving 1.d4?

Not sure if this is a mistake, seeing as its now a valid diagonal for my Bishop. But it does hand over a bit more power in the centre to you, plus opens your Bishops strength.

And to TCN, could you please respond in a day or two by the rules placed at the beginning of this match.

Well Gringo, you beat me to announcing that.

I really wanted to play this game out, and if TCN comes back and gives a reason, I would happily keep playing, but till then, 0-1. This offer is only available for another day, I have already given an extention. :uhoh:
