Can you publish a fully audited balance sheet of entries versus prizes before the start of the 1st round so I can decide whether I'm getting ripped off if I enter. And no excuses about "overheads" either.

bobby1972
23-01-2004, 03:37 PM
last tournament there all entry fees were paid in prizes yes it was even rated for nothing, no expenses no oveheads last time ,very generous. no pal you wont get ripped off ,the place goes to extreme measures thanks to its members to make prizes very fair.please come and play and see for your self of course it has expenses but this club tries for maximum possible prizes.have a look at our recent history.

Looks like bobby1972 totally missed the point of shaun's post.

I wonder if that was intentional or not.
Perhaps the CV Treasuer will now be after the MCC for rating fees.

talk about dumping a club in it again :D , im sure mcc will thank you later bobby

yes it will be rated of course as usual,i have it on good authority .
You misunderstand.

You said in the previous post that the MCC did not pay to have its tournament rated.

Surely CV would not show favouratism to the MCC and rate one of its tournaments when CV expects all other clubs to pay rating fees.

bobby1972

i said no such thing in last post, all i said was that all prize money was paid out,now i am sure that the ratings people will rate it because we pay to have it rated, that the money does not come from entry fees is not important .as i understand it if you pay it gets rated no?.

can you explain if the rating fees from the previous tournaments have been paid by mcc to CV? Will this happen this time?

bobby1972

yeah all paid, even got $50 credit acording to bb

my advice bobby is for someone from mcc committee to do the promotion for their events, with the current frosty relations, one bad comment here or there could lead to another suspension maybe. Especially when there could be speculation of unpaid fees either way.

Thats not what you said you said:

last tournament there all entry fees were paid in prizes yes it was even rated for nothing,
That implies you paid nothing to have it rated.

Are you now saying that your statement was incorrect and the MCC did pay to have it rated.

Bill Gletsos

That had nothing to do with rating fees.
It was to do with the MCC not having paid the team enrty fees for the interclub.
To say you got a credit is misleading because in fact you never paid it.

Al that happened was that instead of charging you $200 based on a strict reading of the rules CV decided to only charge $150.

Yep bobby just seems to be digging them into a hole by unintentionally making confusing posts.

Ascaro

Thanks for all the detail.
I had noticed that your original first post and the whole thread had scrolled off the screen and you were getting no publicity from the BB. So I fixed that and you got some visibility. This is good.

Sorry that the publicity has come from the gallery north of our borders and has been questionable. But as they say, any publicity is good publicity.

I am going to visit over the week-end at the MCC, after taking my wife to lunch. Hope to see you there.

To the Sydneysiders and the Qlder
Perhaps MCC funded ratings out of members subscription collections. Only Angelo could tell us. This is not a request for you to back-off with the questions, but rather to be patient with a nascent publicity officer.

If they pay rating fees but dont fund them from the tournament entry fees then fine but bobby's original post implied they paid no rating fees at all.

No idea firegoat.
However I would suggest it is someone hoping to confuse the masses by using a very similar name to the original bobby1972.

hi Ascaro

You have got me interested in this topic, of prizes and entry fees, since you started a few threads about others being 'mickey mouse'

I notice that you have 22 entrants. Good I look forward to watching when I drop in tomorrow for the afternoon games.

Two of the entrants probably had their entry fee waived.
That leaves 20 who paid.
My guess is that half paid concession only. So that means you collected $900.
The prizes advertised at the start of the thread add to $500. Does the MCC pay another $400 in rating prizes? Or are the advertised 1st, 2nd, and 3rd beefed up to add to $900?
