Now, when both Igor and Jesse are not around anymore and it is seems George is the clear favorite, I wonder if he can become the NSW rapid champ on the 14-th.

Maybe Tomek Rej can win, I seem to remember him scoring 7 out of 7 at the NSWCA teams challenge or Ed Agulto if he plays

Can anybody tell me please how much time it takes to get to the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club from the Central Station and which line should I take?

Is not it the same club where the team's rapid was held a few month ago?
Thanks in advance.

You need to get to West Ryde station and it is a couple minutes walk from there. When you get off at West Ryde, dont go to the bus interchange side. The road to Ryde Eastwood is on the side of the station.

IM Alexander Matros wins the tournament on 6.5/7. He conceded only a GM draw against the brother-in-law of an Australian Champion. Let's see if that's not too hard for Freddy to figure out.

"What about an archive...?"

The new flickr.com is a paid account. Didn't cost me much. I took it up because I was worried that those free ones could just disappear at any moment. Anyway, the photos are on my PC and CDs all over my house.

I think we should start a nation-wide project where at least a bloke or two in each state takes pics and sends them to somebody in the ACF. Doesn't the ACF have an historian or archivist or something?

Blog updated.

Amiel. I know Gary Lane is the Australian Champion and long time controls, but we are talking rapid, so Brians comment could be seen as being ambigous. Now seeing you are having a shot at me let's see if you do know what you are talking about, who is the Australian Womens Rapidplay champion? You should know you played in the tournament.

It is so great to read all these news and find out new things about yourself and your friends.

The first big surprise comes from the report by Mal Murrell.

...Alexander based in New York is originally from Kazakhstan and having a chessplaying holiday in Australia...

Two things are new for me in this message. Firstly, Alex does live in America, but not in New York. Secondly and I think more importantly, he did not come to Australia for a chessplaying holiday. If his employers could read this report Alex would be in trouble.

Couple things are also new for me from the AR article. Firstly, Alex is a Russian player but he is not from Russia. He is from Kazakhstan.

Secondly, both Alex Matros(2450) and Kerry Stead(2076) are presumably not players under 2000.
