Wow, when was the last time George started a tournament with 0/2?Back in the Lajos Steiner Memorial in 2003 when he withdrew after two rounds after he lost to Alex Mendes da Costa in round 1 and Owen Chan in round 2.

That was too easy for you Bill. While you're in this section of the board, you might like to stop over in the St George one.

In case anyone is wondering, Zhengbo Wang (WA) won a scholarship to study in Canberra this year, hence his involvement.

It is a shame 12 year old Yita Choong (1633!!) could not participate - he has beaten a 1937!! player twice in the last month :(

I'm sure everyone expected Zhao to win, nevertheless a perfect score is damn impressive

Also a pretty good result for Junta leading into the world's.

Anyone have an inside story on Max Illingworth? He had a hell of a shocker.

Congratulations to Michael and Charles on what appeared to be a great tournament. Special congratulations to Ingela on getting the Girls Masters off the ground. (Anyone who has anything to do with girls, knows how hard it is to get them to play....)

We have just had a great 3 days with 36 very enthusiastic girls. Now we need to see how far it takes us. Fortunately (or not for those responsible for the paperwork) we are required to survey & follow up participants in our report to the Department responsible for the original grant (we even have to supply audited accounts  )
