Oh and here is the final report on the Last Dandenong Tournament to get an idea of the field.
Tournament report on the Dandenong Easter Cup from Garry Lycett:

The fifth and final round of the Dandenong Easter Cup saw Frank Silas
come from behind to snatch first place.

The leaders going into the last round were two points clear of Frank,
but Milenko Lojanica suffered a rare loss to Don Machell in the main
game and Mehmedalija Dizdarevic could only draw against Malcolm Pyke.
Mehmedalija did win the two 10-minute games to finish on 28 points,
Don Machell could have got to 29 but dropped both 10-minute games to
Milenko.

But Frank managed an impressive clean sweep against the normally solid
Geoff Cook to go to 28.5 and sneak ahead of Mehmedalija by a meagre
1/2-point. Mehmedalija was second on 28, Don third on 27 with the
brothers Lojanica sharing 4-5th on 25.5.

One player unfortunately lost a game due to his mobile phone ringing,
naturally he wasn't happy but as a warning to others it is a part of
the rules and will be enforced.

Good to see former WA player Frank Silas doing so well after a poor Aus Nationals! I will let Frank's WA mates know of his success.

Dear all, once again this is copied from an email circular and I don't seem to be able to fix the formatting in that case, if anyone can suggest some wonderful way to do so, other than the quote tags which don't seem to work so well in this case, I would be delighted to know,

The second round results left eight players remaining on the maximum 2
points.
A few of the more fancied players found the going tough, top seed
Abdulwahab Rashid was held to a draw by Sadedin Redzepagic, as was
Mehmedalija Dizdarevic by Bob Parrot and Easter Cup winner Frank Silas by
Ahmet Yilmaz.
The remaining games went mostly according to ratings, although unrated Huny
Yam came from a rook down to defeat John Zamora and Craig Baxter showed
Matthew Potter that getting your Knight to g7 isn't much good if you can't
get it out again.
Another couple of upsets looked likely in the final two games to finish;
Phillip Drew was the exchange up and had three connected passed pawns
bearing down on a seemingly defenceless Chris Potter, but somehow Chris
managed to hold his nerve and escape with an unlikely draw. The last game
to finish saw a big crowd watch the unrated Steven Doon play very well to
achieve an "unloseable" position against Wilson Lin, only to lose it.

Round three will see the leading eight players meet on the top four boards.
This event saw three Africans join the club and play their first
tournament, one of them, Kuol Deng, has beaten Matthew Potter and Nick
Vitkovic but it will be interesting to see how he handles a stronger class
of opponent in round three.

The leaders in the rating groups are:
U1901: Z. Lojanica, A. Anderson, R. Voon & W. Lin (2 points)
U1701: S. Redzepagic, R. Parrot, R. Burzic & A. Yilmaz (1.5 points)
U1501: P. Pispek, S. Pronk, I. Gungordu, G. Tolpigin & A. Nagendirarajah (1
point)
U1301: P. Keefe, A. Lamech & C. Baxter (1 point)
U1101: K. Deng (2 points)

Dear Bobby, title tells the story, so here are the Round 5 Results and Round 6 Pairings
Report From Gary Lycett:
The fifth round saw the outright leadership change hands on top board as
Wilson Lin lost to Milenko Lojanica. Milenko is on 4.5 but is leading by
only 1/2-point from seven players on 4 points. The loss was costly for
Wilson who was joined as leader of his rating group by three others.

Newcomer Kuol Deng suprised everyone by defeating Mehmedalija Dizdarevic,
this not only puts Mehmedalija out of contention but could make it easier
for Milenko to hang on as he will not meet him in the remaining two rounds.

I have been advised by Don Maciulaitis that Dandenong Chess Club now has a
permanent web address:

www.dandychess.org.au

The leaders in the rating groups are:
U1901: R. Voon, Z. Lojanica, W. Lin, T. Lushaj (4 points)
U1701: A. Yilmaz, M. Armerman (3.5 points)
U1501: I. Gungordu (3 points)
U1301: C. Baxter, D. Potter (3 points)
U1101: K. Deng (4 points)

Following are the round five results and the round six pairings.

Regards: Garry Lycett

Dear all,
sorry about the delay; here is the final report for the Dandenong Autumn Open from Gary Lycett:

although he still picked up a share of a rating prize.
Thai Ly defeated Richard Voon to grab outright third on 5.5 with four
players 1/2-point further back on 5.

Winners and prizemoney:

=1st; 6.0 - Milenko Lojanica, Zdravko Lojanica $400.00 each
