It seems 'Grandmaster Alex' just can't perform at the swift time controls (acf normal 1752). I'd wager Garvin would have beat him pretty easily if he had of played. :D

i certainly dont think the arrogant one can perform nearly as well at the board as with his mouth

Is that Steven Chandler the same player who moved to Brisbane from Adelaide?

Scott.

I think it is... he's rated about 1700.

Okay. From memory I think his first name should be spelt Stephen then.

First main tournament held tonight for qugs, 15/0. 12 players in attendance and not too bad a field strength wise, expect Sean Karita and [Alex] were missing. This puts them behind already in the run for the club championship.

Results and cross table from tonights play.

Next week is a social chess night, so we are going to try our first losers points lightning. Thanks Box Hill for this idea. :D

you asked me to put the first tourney up, so i decided to put the second one up as well and will continue to do so for the rest of the year, or until i get sick of putting up the results, which ever comes first :uhoh:

We shall see in the next few weeks what Brendan's real rating should be ;) but yes he does appear to be better than in the 1100's.

is he your favourite for the lpl next week :uhoh:

No way, I'm going to smash him in every single game! I was dispatching him quite easily in those friendly games afterwards that you were watching :)

Just to appease Ed, we'll have to have a transfer tourn one week.. hehe. Perhaps also I can do a suicide chess simul against everyone too.. prizes to whoever beat me or if no one does, I keep the prizes myself! (I think that sounds fair) ;)

of course in that transfer tournament, Sean and yourself will have to be paired together ;)

If you speak to the tool, tell him to get his butt to qugs next week as I wanna speak to him.

Speak to him about what.. about how he's progressing on his 'road to 2000'? :D

Will let him know when I speak to him next.

And post the results in the Non-Chess section? ;)
