Rooty Hill Open will start next Tuesday as scheduled.
We are confident that the State government will get on top of the latest Covid outbreak without further lockdown.
The rules will be revised however:
For the First round, we will go back to the situation when we first restarted OTB in October after the early months of Covid.

We have socially distanced the chess boards since last October. This will continue.
Masks will again be compulsory, and hand sanitising compulsory, whenever entering the Chess Room.

Good hygiene is our best defence against spreading COVID-19.
If you are feeling unwell, please don’t risk your health or the health of others – stay at home.
You are all asked to practice proper hygiene methods. Including:
- When going to the toilet, wash your hands with soap and water, then dry thoroughly
- You must use the alcohol based hand sanitiser, whenever entering the Chess Room
- When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose into a flexed elbow
- Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose and mouth, as this is how the virus can enter your body
- Wear a Mask, correctly:- cover your nose!
- Avoid close contact with others, that’s social distancing
- Dispose of tissues after single-use, then use the alcohol based hand sanitiser.

First Round draw published on Sunday afternoon 27 June in our club Newsletter
Late entries accepted until 4pm on Tuesday 29 June, when Round 1 commences at 7.15 PM.

In anticipation of an extension of the current Lockdown, we have now moved the starting date of the Rooty Hill Open to Tuesday August 3.

However in case an extension of the current Lockdown by three weeks or more is deemed necessary by the NSW Government, the Open Tournament will start on the first available Tuesday after the Lockdown has been lifted.

Stay safe and follow the NSW government Covid-19 guidelines.
