Noble Park Chess Club is pleased to announce that the club is reopening for over the board tournament chess again after a year-long break!

Noble Park Chess Club Knights Cup February 28th

A 7 Round Swiss Tournament open to all ages

When: Sunday February 28th, arrive by 12:45 pm to register for a 1:00 pm start; finish time is variable but likely 4:45 - 5:00 pm

Venue: Paddy O'Donoghue Centre, 18-34 Buckley St, Noble Park 3174 (plenty of parking available and 2 minutes walk from the train station)

Entry: Free for members see http://nobleparkchess.org.au/Membership.html for information on memberships, and sign up on the day!
- $10 for Noble Park Junior Coaching participants (must have attended at least 75% of sessions held in term 1 prior to this event) and for holders of concession cards
- $20 otherwise

Field Limit: The February event will have a field limit of 30 players, early entries are encouraged!

Prizes: Trophy for 1st, silver and bronze medals for 2nd and 3rd, in the age groups: U8, U10, U12, U18. Age category prizes are restricted to players in the appropriate age range (only 10- and 11-year-olds may win an U12 prize, etc.).

Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for adults (18 and over) - entries based

Time Control: 10 minutes per player + 3 seconds added per move.

Our field last Sunday was small but competitive, thanks to all who came! The overall winner was Jackie Li with 7/7.

A reminder that the next Knights Cup will be held on Sunday 28th March (this coming weekend), we have already received about 10 entries and are looking forward to a bigger tournament.

The March event is on tomorrow! We will be accepting entries at the venue, please arrive by 12:45 pm as we are aiming for a 1:00 pm start. About 15 entries have been received before the day.

The field for March was bigger with 17 participants, and we were especially pleased to be able to run the U10 and U8 prize sections again! The overall winner was Billy Huang with 7/7.
