I loved the intro "It was the days of black and white television and milk carts drawn by horses."
Well at least you had TV and I can still recall the smell of the horses rump.

The rather notorious gentleman (*) in the picture won a State Chess Championship (not making it any easier for you by naming the State)
not exactly in the early 70s but not that far apart anyway! :D Go on have a go! :P ( Gattaca stay out of this! :D )

Also my shot ... I was sharing a hotelcomputer with him and Paul Broekhuyse in Canberra 2001/02.

You are both correct and geez I thought this was a hard one!!!

It was Paul Dozsa indeed.

He won the 1977 NSW Championship
