The 39th Trusts Chess Open was held at the Te Pai Centre, Henderson, Auckland on 4 to 6 June 2016.

Poison Pawn Grand Prix Super Class event

Format: Four separate 6 round Swiss tournaments with a time control of 90 minutes each plus 30 seconds a move from the start of the game.

Results

FIDE Master (FM) Ben Hague became only the second player to win all six games in the A tournament, a feat also achieved by Grandmaster Gawain Jones in 2009.
