'Gypsy Day' warning for long weekend traffic (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11456311http://) by Patrice Dougan, NZ Herald. 28 May 2015.

Gypsy Day stock moving may affect those driving from out of town. What may impact this tournament's players is the planned roadworks on Northwestern motorway. Under "Roadworks" heading it says:

* The Northwestern motorway will be closed in both directions between Te Atatu and Lincoln Roads from 8pm on Saturday, May 30 to 8am on Sunday May 31.

Hopefully everyone would have finished and left well before it closes at 8pm and it will open on time on Sunday morning.

I can't find it in NZTA's Auckland highway warning page (http://www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic/current-conditions/highway-info/road/6585/auckland.html) nor Auckland Transport's Roadworks & Disruptions page (https://at.govt.nz/projects-roadworks/road-works-disruptions/). Probably selective blindness or looking for the info in the wrong place.

Also look at the section titled Queen's Birthday weekend congestion hotspots in NZTA's current conditions page (http://www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic/current-conditions/index.html).

Any live games broadcast for this event?

Keong's off to Singapore with Alphaeus so no live games and probably no live results either, though I'll try to get hold of files each evening. No promises!

Congratulations on your draw with Russell, Helen.
For those that want a reminder the results are at http://www.newzealandchess.co.nz/Vega2015/wwwTrustsOpenA/.

The total entry of 70 looks a bit down on previous years. e.g 96 last year.

Thanks Gino - nice game and congratulations on your overall result. I expect that was through following our advice on how to improve as an adult player on another thread (http://www.chesschat.org/showthread.php?15494-How-to-improve)...

Looks like a well-deserved win. How funny that retreating a N to b8 twice was the best move.

Yep, entered perfectly in the game viewer. Your comments seem accurate; quite an up-and-down game.
