Pairings for the Masters are now available at http://www.newzealandchess.co.nz/calendar.html.
There has been a withdrawal from the Qualifiers; pairings will be published when a replacement is confirmed...

Update...the draw for the Masters is available. Players are as listed in Keong's post. Seems there was some confusion, rather than an actual withdrawal...
Still no replacement for the withdrawal from the Qualifiers though.

I was extremely lucky - Bruce defended so well.

From moves 20-40 I was down to almost increment. Then he misjudged the rook ending. I was lost many times up until that point.

You're also lucky that your draw offer was rejected.
Draw offers cannot be withdrawn. The draw offer stands even if you alter your scoresheet by scratching out the (=)!!

Almost unheard of for Solo to misplay a vastly superior endgame and lose. It was rather like an Exchange Spanish but reflected vertically, so White has an extra P on the Q-side while Black's 4-3 on the K-side is doubled. Earlier on in the endgame, I would have backed Solo to beat even a good GM from this.
[I have no idea why the game isn't playing in the window.]

correct only 6.5 for me. So in that case easy!

So draw tomorrow then 5 wins. As long as I can get middle game plans sorted!

46 Re1 could be replied by 46...Bb4 and the resulting rook endgame is not very clear...

After 46...Bb4 47. Kxb4 Rxd3 48. Re8! Looks pretty clear to me.
But after 46...Rxe1 47.Nxe1 Ke6 I think holds? How does white win as the black bishop always seems to have a lucky square.

The best move was probably 46.c5!? and the b-pawn can't be stopped?

It used to happen before too - a mistake halfway through would stop the whole game from playing.

I thought it sometimes used to be OK if, as in this case, the mistake was confined to a variation. Also sometimes an error midway through would still allow play-through to the point of the error. But it did vary depending on what kind of error it was, and things like numbers being included in comments quite often stopped it altogether.

Wohl goes to 3/3, continuing his good form after the Nell van de Graaff Classic 2013 (http://www.chesschat.org/showthread.php?14860-Nell-van-de-Graaff-Classic-2013). The game transposed into a very good Benko Gambit for Black, without even needing to sac a P for such powerful pressure, and with one pair of Ns already exchanged. Wohl suggests 18. Qd3, because then the Rc4 and Na6 are awkwardly under the Q's potential attack.

correct only 6.5 for me. So in that case easy!

So draw tomorrow then 5 wins. As long as I can get middle game plans sorted!
That's the spirit. C'mon Gino - you can do it!

No norm for me anymore. :(. I am sure my games have been entertaining though. Yesterday's game was very full on after e5. I seem to come out slightly on top in most lines.
Not sure what I was thinking when I played Qe2 - Qc2 instead and im doing OK. Will go for the win against bob today!
