When you have more than one processor running on the same motherboard. Dual Processor is most common. Ive heard about quad processor and more.

But the question is, is dual processor actually worth it? How much return do you get for spending money for 2 CPU's? Ive heard its about 20-30% more.

Didn't pre-486 machines use dual processors?

I dont know. I was quite young when 486 was top stuff :P

No you weren't! Maybe a bit young to remember all the specs now, but I certainly remember using it. In fact, my truty 486 is sitting here right now, still chugging along with Windows 95

Multi = many; more than one

processor = the part of the computer that runs processes.
