Anyone who like me has earlier purchased popular Kiwi NM Peter Stuart's excellent database of NZ chess games from 1879 on, will be pleased to know that the 2012 update is out. I have paid for and received it.

Approx 36,000 games (play all those over if your life is long enough!). Chessbase (cbv and pgn) formats. Searches on players and openings. Either updates or new purchases available by emailing pstuart@xtra,co,nz.

Post number 5000 and time for bed!

don't see the point from a productive point of view. All the pgns from all the major tournaments are weekenders are published on Helen's site. Just a matter of getting them yourself.

I'm sure that's where peters gets them from. Still it is good to have the old games to look at..

Peter Stuart's database CD-ROM includes all games by kiwi players, including those played abroad. It also includes crosstables for Championships. All checked and consistent. It is a very valuable piece of kit, and contains far more than you could glean from my website! Many of the games are entered by Peter himself, though there are other contributors. However, I'm puzzled why it is being mentioned at this time of year - it is released early each year, and the database containing the 2012 update is not available yet, as far as I am aware. At least, I haven't been asked to advertise it yet!

I think it is an excellent resource. My new CD is labelled 2012. And the reason for mentioning it this late in the year is that I recently ordered my CD and received it from Peter. Then I could not see any reference to it in Chess Chat so thought it was high time there was one! I had spoken to him about obtaining the latest version - my version was about 10 years old - back at the SIO, but was rather slow in following through.

And congrats to Gino on his first ton!

I have obtained and installed my 2013 database. Once again impressive. Approx. 38,700 games now (1876-2013) in cbv and pgn formats. Easy to filter by player.
