Hiarcs have latched onto Apple's steady market-share gains with its new Hiarcs Chess Explorer for Mac. This has been released concurrently with the PC version and runs natively in both offerings.

This database and analysis program includes a new Hiarcs 14 engine and the latest Book.

Thanks for the info. I used to run Sigma Chess/Hiarcs but it wasn't upgraded to OS 10.7. Meanwhile I changed my e-mail address so didn't receive notice of the new program. I've now bought it and is seems pretty good at (literally) first sight.

Hiarcs for Mac 1.5.1 update is now available.

Hiarcs' pgn databases load and update considerably faster than those of Chessbase. Its game analysis architecture is briliiant. However one annoyance remains in that you need another program to strip doubles.
