a chess version of this show would be great viewing.
8 players, knockout 5min games (kibitzing allowed for Tony G-types)
and winner takes all!!

they could even give a quick rundown 'how to play chess' at the start
for the general public. would fit a nice 90min program.

I wanna hear how a quick run down on chess goes?

I doubt its a programme for the General public, but im in for it. Sounds alright. In Switzerland they show different card games everynight on the main tv station, so why not chess?

just give very quick rundown on chess.
ie. each side has 16 pieces aiming to trap the king.
could show movement of each piece and leave it at that.

other rules like en passant, castling, promotion can be left
to explain when it occurrs (similar to the poker program
that explain all-in, small blind, big blind thru the program, etc.

people would be able to watch and what roughly what was happening!
