Since no one has mentioned it, thought I will inform that Sydney FM Tomek Rej has turned up in Warsaw Poland in the 9th Najdorf Festival and did very well in the first 4 rounds and not so well in the next three and drew in Rd 8 and is standing now on 4/8.

The website is here: http://www.poloniachess.pl/najdorf2010/index.php?lang=en
Tomek's results are here: http://www.poloniachess.pl/najdorf2010/A/card_z$26.html

And here are excerpts from the daily bulletins by Stanislaw Zawadzki and found on TWIC here (but up to Rd 6 only): http://www.chess.co.uk/twic/chessnews/events/najdorf-memorial-festival-warsaw-2010

Rd 3:
A lot of luck had another favourite, GM Bartlomiej Macieja, who get an inferior, maybe lost position against Tomek Rej. Finally he managed to transform it into worse, but drawish rook endgame. Even though he can't be satisfied with this result

Rd 4:
Two most crazy games were Rej-Jakubowski and Matuszewski-Vysochin. In both cases grandmasters, who were playing with black, gained a serious material advantage and it looked like they will win convincingly. It appears that a bravery of young players was rewarded. Krzysiek Jakubowski blundered a beautiful tactical blow, after which he could resign immediately, then Michal Matuszewski developed a devastating attack on opponent's king left in the center.

Very nice result for Tomek even if he has faded a bit towards the end. I am not sure that the write up on the second game is really fair to him. He seemed to have a lot of pressure for the sacrificed piece.
