I have a wee HTML problem that I cannot find in my manual. It is probably there somewhere.

What I want to do is put an instruction in my HTML that puts the browser into full screen mode. It has to be some HTML command followed by F11 but what command.

I suspect that the solution is so obvious that I am missing it.

I don't know how to do this but I suspect javascript will be needed somewhere. Regardless, may I suggest that a Google of <full screen coding> would be a great spot to start.

Try using some inline CSS like below:

<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
body { width: 100%; height: 100%; }
</style>
</head>
</html>

This page claims to show how to do it:

However it doesn't work in my IE8 browser.

The first thing to do here is blame your choice of browser, or blame you for choosing that browser :P

Fullscreen will seriously annoy some folk unless it's what they expect. This style looks about right to me to leave the user in control.

I don't even like maximised windows - how does the ANZ bank know its banking screen needs to be maximised?

It doesn't and it doesn't.
