hi it is me again
if you are looking for a chess program to improve your chess skills chessmaster 8000 or 9000 is the one you need to get
it is honestly the best chess teacher around in the form of a disc
it will have everything you need on it
databases
teaching for you
tells you the rules
lets you play a wide varitys of people at all sorts of ratings
lets you see some great games from a master

really ths is the one
if you want a chess program to learn on or to improve on

I dont think so!

If you are a beginner, Chess Master is ok, but if you are not, then chessbase programs are the way to go!

I suggest chessmaster for beginners and chessbase for the rest!

Chessmaster has a very powerful engine, and the lessons are great... unless you are international master or something. so if you are less than 2000 rating, im sure it can help you.

ChessBase is very hard to use... its not straight forward like chessmaster

Yeah, I'd agree with bob,
Chessmaster has been great even since version 4000.
I'm not sure how the current versions are, but it was a very easy way to learn the game when I was a beginner back then.

chess master is pretty good i guess interms of eachin and playin...... havn't tried chess base, but accordin to wut i heard, many online games, are stored in the form of pgn...... can chess master open those files??
