We bought a home theatre system, and when ever we play a dvd, the voices are all muffled and really quite, but the music and the sound effects really loud! is there a way to make the voice a bit louder?

We also bought a freeview hd set top box but we're only getting channel Prime and {Prime hd and sbs 1,2,3 and hd... thats it! Any suggestions? this isolation from tv is really driving me nuts!!

Check the centre channel speaker, it may not be working.

Reception depends on where you are in relation to the transmitters and what kind of antenna you have. Digital TV and radio are much more sensitive to poor signal strength [analogue picture may be crappy but you still get it] so it is important to have a good antenna and be able to see the transmitter!

oh Wazz^ Dmanns =)

About your problem - hehe, Sprouty was going to suggest that you focus your attention to the center channel. It may not be plugged inz or you dont have a center speaker. Might try turning up ur tv in that case to = out the system. :eh:

Reception on an older tv with an HD box is a shot in da dark kinda deal m8. along with the HD box youll definatly need a new HD antenna. this alone is very iffy cause the HD signals are weaker and will require experimenting on placement of the new HD antenna- the closer to a window the better along with pointing it towards where ever the station towers are located in your city.

It would be better if you upgraded your tv to a new HD TV along with the new HD Antenna(skip da HD box all together). But youll still have to experiment where you place the antenna in da window.

The whole new HD system suks really cause the bandwiths are so much smaller than regular analog tv setup. Anything less than a direct tv or cable hookup to any of the three ways mentioned above isnt going to give yea the desired viewing pleasure you had before this whole mess took over the tv industry :wall:
