Hey everyone :)
I've got this massive website project to do for english,
and I'm just wondering how I can insert music (.mp3) to play on the webpages and also how to insert .flv/youtube videos on adobe dreamweaver...
I am not very experienced at dreamweaver, but would be glad if anyone knows how to do this stuff.
Thanks :)

I really, REALLY, ***REALLY*** dislike websites that play music as soon as you navigate to the index page.

Actually, I'm planning to include background music on every single page (there will be alot), because all the projects from the past 5 years have done so and it's actually quite effective :)

Seriously, do a Google search for "i hate websites that play music." Nearly 2 million matches. Be warned, however, many of the diatribes contain immature language.

http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/insert_media/addingsandv/ gives you a start.

Why not make music a clickable option? Your lecturer/teacher will probably have suffered it before and have sound muted anyway.

Azure, I am NOT about to walk you through this, OK!? However, I will give you some quick pointers to get you going and then you can get busy using your best friend - Google.

1. Create new (basic) page
2. Create layout cell (blue box icon) in menu bar
3. Go to Insert > Media and then chose from Flash or your preferred option.

As for embedding music - similar concept. Now go and Google.

Good luck.

If it were me, I'd try 'embed mp3 dreamweaver'
I did and this is what I got (http://www.google.com.au/search?q=embed+mps+into+dreamweaver&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a)

and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUM_SUPvjjo) is the first hit - a video for what you want ;)

Carry on!

I did that and the first page of matches mainly comprised websites which provided downloadable music or internet radio (which does not automatically start playing music as soon as you navigate there) and a few links to pages were the title of the page makes it clear they actually hate such pages. :P

YESSSS!!!, I finally (after a million tries of embing and linking with flash) made it work :)
with:
http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/insert_media/addingsandv/addingsandv05.html
and it actually autoplays (after unblocking ActiveX, and script content)
only then did I realise that I didn't need to convert 50 mp3 files to flash, which took me 3 hrs! :wall: :wall:
YAY
:)
I wish dreamweaver was easier to use.
Now for the images and videos :)
