I have more good news.Brodie McClymont has informed me that a grandmaster famous for once being the World Chess Champion of bullet or 1 Minute Chess is definitely coming up to Coolum to play in the Bill Powell Open.
Can you guess who this is?
I love your venue.The Coolum-Peregian RSL is such a great place to play chess in.
I hope to have a beer there with Bill Powell too.

With this latest entry our entries are up to 28 with a few days left. Numbers will be a little higher I have a couple of phone calls to return, and there will be some last minute entries no doubt, maybe some more high rated players who want to test themselfs against a GM.

So you heard it first from Mark, the 2011 winner of the Caloundra Open is coming back to the Sunshine Coast to attempt to get his name on our trophy a second time.
