Cool pic. Who is that bloke in front on the left?
There is no cure for leftism. Its infestation of the host mostly diminishes with age except in the most rabid of specimens.

That's him. I thought it was a dead-set ringer for a young Ian Murray then I realised he appeared to have a clue whilst looking at a chessboard and so I disabused myself of the notion

I have been remiss in not posting - I meant to acknowledge on this board that excellent commemorative booklet you put together for 100 years of Qld Open - read it cover to cover a couple of weeks ago. Second time I've read it - ve enjoyable. Even pinched some material for BCC web-site.

Modesty prevents me from revealing his identity

You meant 100 years of Qld Championships of course. Queensland Chess Championships 1895 - 1995 - a booklet I cobbled together with significant assistance from the late Ken Fraser, former custodian of the Anderson Collection at Vic State Library.

In case I miss the next centenary, perhaps you could do the honours then?

The one on the right, smoking the pipe, I think is Octavian Sencariuc from Townsville. His opponent is Ken Barker.
