I agree it's too late. I just happened to be watching this game for the last hour, and including when you made the two moves - Garrett gave you every opportunity.

yeah I was expecting Ba6 a bit sooner. I have found it is useful to hit the 'preview post' button which seems to help make sure I've entered the correct move.

I resign. Well played Garrett. For a while I was happy with my opening, but everything fell apart after my mistake on move 12.

Some quick thoughts: 12...Re8 and leaving the e pawn on e7 would have been better. 12...e6 was suicide, allowing for the knight to be pinned. I wanted to play a6, b5 ideas but it would've been slow compared to white's e5 ideas and wouldn't work because of white's strong control of b5.

black seems to be getting squashed for space , even after a move like 12...Nh7

    Hi Zwischenzug

yes, another move on move 12 would have been better.

I am also not sure that hunting down and exchanging my bad bishop was a good idea, but I am not an expert so it could have been okay.

    thanks again for the game.

    cheers
    Garrett.

Yes Nd7-e5xd3 must be wrong, I think. Black spends time getting rid of white's bad bishop, provokes f4 which white wants to play anyway, develops white's queen to a better square, and weakens control of e5. Also, not sure whether ...b6 is right, it does not appear to be in the spirit of his position. Better to try for a6 & b5.
