    Well done

Well done Croydon! Great stuff. Is the Olympiad appeal in question the one for the last Olympiad or the next one?
God exists. Short and to the point.

Well, the website ACF Olympiad Appeal says "Any further donations will be allocated to the next Olympiad Appeal." So I have assumed it would be towards that. Wikipedia thinks it'll be held in Russia, 2010.

$5 is remarkably cheap for a simul against an IM. to Guy for his generosity in putting this on for no personal profit.

The payment options at www.caq.org.au/olympiad/index.htm are still operable - donations will go direct to ACF earmarked for the next Olympiad (which is to be held in Khanty-Mansiysk in Siberia - bring your winter woollies)

Yes to the above. Guy was an effective member of the team himself, as I know from experience.

Hi Jean, chances that I will make it for the night are (fingers crossed) increasing. It was nice to see you continuing your Queenstown form at the MCC last night! Same applies to Sarah!

Ah, excellent. Happy to hear that. Hopefully you'll make it in that case!

Thanks, I was pretty happy - before last night I had been puzzling over the possibility that Queenstown might be a fluke! That somehow all my opponents might be out of form or something... just a very lucky run.

Yes, Sarah is playing really well.

Just got back from the simul. Was a very good turnout with a good mix of juniors, seniors and visitors. Some of the juniors played really well, outlasting a few of us seniors.

My goal was to last 30 moves which I achieved but things went pear shaped soon after and I resigned on move 34.

When I left there were a few games still going. I know dougy had scored a draw and a couple of the outstanding games looked like there might be a few chances.
