The Anglican Church has a clear position on divorce - they're okay with it.

    Good points all.

I'm not an Anglican either but appreciate that clear stance too. And I think their traditional Christmas service is second to none.

    Posts moved

I've decided to move posts regarding Margaret Court to a new thread as the controversy around her extends further than her views on same-sex marriage and covers a number of subjects. Posts that cease debating Court and start debating any of these topics may be moved back or to other threads.

Any discussion of thread placements may occur in the Help and Feedback section only.
Moderation Requests: All requests for, comments about, or questions about moderation of any kind including thread changes must be posted in the Help and Feedback section and not on the thread in question. (Or by private message for routine changes or sensitive matters.)

'There will be dad and mum': Putin rules out Russia legalizing gay marriage
President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday Russia would not legalize gay marriage as long as he was in the Kremlin.
    MSN, 13 Feb 2020

He made clear he would not allow the traditional notion of mother and father to be subverted by what he called "parent number 1" and "parent number 2".

"As far as 'parent number 1' and 'parent number 2' goes, I've already spoken publicly about this and I'll repeat it again: as long as I'm president this will not happen. There will be dad and mum," Putin said.

During his two decades in power, Putin has closely aligned himself with the Orthodox Church and sought to distance Russia from liberal Western values, including attitudes toward homosexuality and gender fluidity.

So what's your excuse? To run like the devil's chasing you.

See you in another life, brotha.

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE WINS: Russia's Constitutional Rejection of Same Sex 'Marriage' Becomes Official Today
In an overwhelming win for the Church, millions of Orthodox Christians are coming to the polls, showing widespread support for the new Constitution and its traditional definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
Fr. Joseph Gleason, Russian Faith, 1 Jul 2020

President Putin issued a clear statement to the Russian people, reminding them that they alone could decide whether to accept the new Constitution:

"I will outline my stand once again. It is clear, unchangeable and absolutely firm: the updated constitution, all the proposed amendments will enter into force only if you approve and support them."

And with an overwhelming majority of Russian citizens voting in favor of the new Constitution, now the protection of traditional Christian marriage is not only popular — it is also the law.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin Jr. led the singing of the Russian national anthem, rather than leaving it to some singer as in the west. He opened with the same famous word as Yuri Gagarin before his historic first manned flight: “Поехали!” (Poyékhali! = “Let’s go!”).
