Just finishing Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim.

    Excellent game.

Wasn't able to watch all the credits, long gone are the days when a single programmer could write a really good game.

Going to try Diablo 3 next !

Yes I liked Skyrim a lot too. The sort of game you can waste a significant chunk of your life playing, which is what it's all about. Looking forward to the Elder Scrolls MMO they are working on too. They are also working on another title called Dishonored which I reckon will be worth a look, video below.

Guild Wars 2 out tomorrow, been waiting for that game for a long, long time.

    Dishonoured looks good.

Hopefully new games will have single player versions as I am not into MMO's mainly due to slowish internet connection.

    cheers

Depending how slow it is you might want to steer clear of Diablo 3. Even in single player mode you must be online during play.

Diablo 3 seems to do all the world processing on the server side, so you suffer from lag just like you would in an online game. If you're on some form of DSL or better I'd say you'd be fine but I wouldn't play it over dialup or something like that.

    Thanks RR

I am on mobile broadband on my laptop (enables me to take it all to the chess tourneys).

I bought diablo on the weekend but I must have made some mistake as it seemed that it was trying to download the entire game from the net rather than installing from the CD.

I will get it sorted and let you know what I think of the game !

    cheers
    Garrett.

For me, Halo is the best game. I like it as it started off the revolution of 'good' first person shooters.
