Bioshock Infinite - 10/10 This game is truly beautiful. Amazing graphically, fun and varied gameplay, and the ending ... woah.

It's been out a couple of years now but Anno 2070 is a pretty good game. Nice graphics with cool modern feel and interesting dynamics.

has anyone had a crack at Thief 4 yet ?

I took holidays to play Doeberl and SIO but not going now so might get this game and a few cartons and have a geek-week.

Cool - I played Civilization a couple of times back in the early 90's when it was a boardgame.

    Presumably it is similar ?

I haven't played the board game but all the Civs have a similar feel but add little tweaks here and there. Personally I find Civ 5 a little tedious and prefer to play Civ 4 Beyond the Sword. I've given Civ 5 several goes but always get annoyed by something or other and my preference for Civ 4 is probably more resistance to change than anything fundamental wrong with 5.

Civ 5 is the only one I have played so I can't compare with the others. If I find a certain aspect is getting tedious after a while I automate it.

I think it is a very rich game that caters to various playstyles, for example you can go the annihilate everyone route, the diplomatic route, win via a science victory, tourism etc. There is also religion but I pretty much ignore that.

Been playing some of the old school D&D games with the Enhanced Editions.
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 EE , am onto Icewind Dale 1 EE now. Will go onto the Planescape one next, which unlike the others I haven't played before. It seems to be based on the same Infinity Engine .

Lots of fun, wish they made games like this still.

By the way there is a big sale on Steam from now until 4th of July, lots of great games at heavily discounted prices!

Yep but a lot of the sales are actually until the 5th of July US time and so still available until sometime on the 6th of July.

Titles I'm thinking about are XPlane11, Anno 2205, Total War: Warhammer, Civilisation VI.

At 80% off I still won't be buying Goat Simulator.

    I'm looking at:
    Desktop Dungeons,
    Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor,
    Darkest Dungeon,
    Mordheim: City of the Damned,
    Shadowrun: Hong Kong EE,
    Assassin's Creed Syndicate,
    Divinity Original Sin EE,
    Fallout 4,
    Doom,
    Baldur's Gate Siege of Dragonspear,
    Telltale Walking Dead Michonne, and
    Planescape: Torment.

But probably not all of them
