    This type of smothered mates, known for 100s of years still occur in modern play as in your example vs Chris.
    The late Narelle Kerner also used this trick to mate young Innes-Brown (*) in 6 moves

    Kellner, Narelle

    Score: 1-0

    Even at 3mins+2secs I cannot understand how someone rated ~1950 and who exclusively plays the Alekhine against 1.e4 doesn't know about this trap
