Is there a chance for this to be FIDE rated?

It may be worth it if it can attract just one or two more strong players.

Lol it wouldn't even make category 2!!

I think this tournament is more like a "for the love of chess" tournament rather than a serious serious type tournament. If you get my drift.

Hey! I'm probably not going to be able to play in the Aus Open/classic! I might be able to play in this tournament.

And It cannot be fide rated as I believe the min time is 90+30 sec?

    "popular CV venue"?

Technically I would suggest it is being held at the Box Hill/Canterbury Chess Club venue; the fact that Chess Victoria is a "co tenant" there is irrelevant.
