Question Please suggest me some "chess puzzles" program! :)

    Hello!

I'm somewhat a newbie to computer chess.. I really, really like chess puzzles (I don't know how they are called), for example those "White to move, mate in 2" you can find everyday on shredderchess or gameknot.

Can you suggest me the best programs, free or not free, that can grant me thousands, millions of different "chess puzzles" with a simple interface? (like the www.shredderchess.com/daily-chess-puzzle.html for example)

    Thanks!

Thousands, not millions, free and web-based - try the Chess Tactics Server. It'll keep throwing them at you as long as you want.

It's not a "program", but so long as you have unlimited internet access, it's as good as anything else really.

I'm surprised nobody suggested CT-Art yet.

Is Andy Toh in the house? Or is chess puzzle spammers trying to sell their own wares to each other not the idea?
There is no cure for leftism. Its infestation of the host mostly diminishes with age except in the most rabid of specimens.

Also, there is Chess Tempo. I find this good personally. It has a "standard" untimed rating and a "blitz" rating too - a distinct advantage over Chess Tactics Server. One annoying thing is when you find a winning move and it'll say something like "the computer found a better one - try again," or even mark it as wrong.

There are about 1650 puzzles on Trainingbot and 1100 on Problembot if you have an account on the Internet Chess Club.

If you don't have an account, but have plenty of time to kill, you can always sign up for a free trial for 7 days and solve all of the easier puzzles.
