To accelerate the decline of this thread, I've seen lots of famous people on TV and in the cinema (on the screen not in the audience). Do they count?

There are lots of famous people who have never visited my house. Just name them and they qualify.

    Merv and Deano

Around 1992, I part managed / owned a SAH for army veterans in Armadale, Melbourne. Answering the door one afternoon, I was surprised to see Merv Hughes and Dean Jones, having brought back home one of my residents - a very fine and popular character who frequently wandered around the streets and usually lost his way back home.
Merv, and Jonesy who were playing tennis at the local court, met Les, made friends with him and with some assistance from the local news agent brought him safely home making sure he was ok. What a lovely couple of fellows. My partner's son David, still has a picture of the Aussie Cricket team of the era, signed of course by Merv and Deano. One of my fondest and most cherished memories!
    Cheers and good luck!

PS. I lived in that house as well! Greg Gatto, Elie Beranjia, Miro Savic, Jim Saros and the late Vic Pateras had visited there a few times!

    Cricketers

Cool. I knew a lot of NZ cricketers because for several years I spent my Saturday afternoons cricket scoring for the Otago University club. Sadly, most of the best well-known played for the opposition, such as Glenn Turner, who I several times chatted with. I also knew the author of the book of our club, Otago University at Cricket. We did have some good years...Clarrie Grimmett played for us before my time...

Does not really count, (as it was not my house) but an old girlfriend had Robert Smith from the Cure come round to her parents house for dinner during their first tour of Australia. Did not really believe it until I saw a photo of R.S., her and her sister sitting on the lounge floor flipping through albums.

Sorry I did not realise 'meeting" refers to playing.

In this case, I played (and there were not simuls but junior tournaments) against Svidler, Morozevich and many other top players from my generation. In fact against Moro (I think it was around 1989 that we played) I managed to win.

    Music

This seems to have metamorphosised into a thread about The Cure. Any more on them and I'll have to ask the mods for a thread split. [done while you were typing that - mod] (Cool! Ta.)
OK, who else has had famous actors or actresses (e.g.) visit their home?
