    Amended pairings Round 2

    Hello everyone,

My apologies to all players that the pairings have been changed in part owing to the inclusion of Mirko Rujevic, who made a mistake as to when the event started, and of course on my own behalf for posting the pairings straight away, being a bit blithe in this instance to the chances of the pairings needing to be changed.

In any case here are the new round 2 pairings

    Code:
     1 Mirko Rujevic 2232 [1] : Thomas Kalisch 1798 [1]
     2 Jim Papadinis 1796 [1] : Carl Gorka 2121 [1]
     3 Malcolm L Pyke 2105 [1] : Bosko Mijatovic 1790 [1]
     4 Scott Stewart 1770 [1] : Domagoj Dragicevic 2103 [1]
     5 Pano Skiotis 2068 [1] : Alex Kaplan 1568 [1]
     6 Felix Wyss 1749 [1] : Richard McCart 1827 [.5]
     7 Garry Lycett 1821 [.5] : Paul Kovacevic 1764 [.5]
     8 Bryan Shanks 1575 [.5] : Roger McCart 1570 [.5]
     9 Jake Kostrzewa 1399 [.5] : James Martin 1662 [0]
    10 David Lacey 1740 [0] : Nikola Ivanov 1516 [0]
    11 Roger Beattie 1655 [0] : Sarah Anton 1401 [0]
    12 Jack Shanks 1489 [0] : Kozo Simutanyi 1598 [0]
    13 John Beckman 1553 [0] : Ben Coggins [0]

What is it with all these postponements? It seems like a state past-time down there. Why isn't da peepz just turning up to da club and getting it orn? What is da matter wid eferybotty and der 'postponements?

Was you given too much lovin' by mummy and not enough smacks from daddy?

He got a win on forfeit because Michael Baron did not show up.

Actually, the reason i was asking this, mid-week last week i was considering joining the tournament as well but as i did not want to have 0.5 bye and number of players was not even - i assumed that it was mission impossible

    Hi Michael,

The reason for Mirko being entered late is that he made a mistake as to when the first round was ie which Monday. It was eventually decided to let him play, and he was given a full point on the high balance of probabilities that he would have won in round 1.

If you had thought of playing, you should have contacted someone I guess,

Take care and God Bless, Macavity

PS will not see reply until much later, going out now

    Interesting
Agreed. I certainly should have contacted someone In fact, i could play Mirko in round 1 in this case and get the most important game out of my way early In any case, what is done can not be undone

As for "high balance of probablities" this is an interesting approach....When asking my question i did not realise it could be done.

As far as I know, if the pairing is possible for the first round (in the above case F. Gunnar received a bye), the high rated player would get a provisional 1 point for the pairing with catch-up game scheduled.
For private coaching (IM, four times VIC champion) call or SMS 0417519733
Computer tells you what to play. Good coach explains why.

Igor, its true but in this case as far as i understood Malcolm's post (I may be wrong) the 1 point is not provisional and no catch up is scheduled.
