    Teflon Kev

My, aren't we I having fun!? With 'The 3' dedicated to the marginal swingers, 'Wall To Wall Labor' supposedly dedicated to the bungling entirely free from finger-pointing at the Libs, I now present 'Teflon Kev' where, for the time being it seems no matter how transparent the slip-up, back flip or bungle, nothing sticks! Oh how we'll wear anything when we're infatuated.

    I'll start.

    1) Kyoto backflip. What Johnny said along.
    2) Friday parliamentary sessions - disposed of after 1 sitting. Apparently because of the cardboard cutout affair!
    3) The carer and pensioner bonus backflip - yep the one he tried to have taken out with the trash while he was OS

Approval rating? Should be around 135% methinks!

Or when the opposition is an uncompetitive mess.

    Hello Howard,

If my reading of some articles was correct (and I did read them closely because of the content).

The idea was that the Friday sessions were abandoned not because of the cardboard cut-out affair, but because without a quorum and question time, it breached the constitution and so was 'illegal'. How illegal you or I can only guess at.

And no this did not come from some far right or left paper. I recall one of the articles in The Australian.

I appreciate and acknowledge (and will even pay) that in its own right. But there's a world difference between selecting the better of two evils and a myopic infatuation! Evidence supports that this country is in the fervent grip of the latter.

Thanks. Really? A quorum of who?

I would imagine it would be when divisions and votes are required.

I think it would reek of hypocrisy if the real reason had to do with the cutout Kev, because if we remember back, Labor used cutouts of 2 cent coins to highlight the spotlight company contract changes under workchoices in question time.

Right. So the choice is for Rudd to pick
Box A - A flash in the pan idea poorly thought out (illegality)
Box B - Crying foul in the ace of hypocrisy

Rudd really is a dumbo. Sooner or later people will wize to the idea that he is shallow goose. I suspect the likes of Laurie Oaks are just waiting for enough rope before they call him on the whole lot put together.

    - Kyoto flip
    - Hammering the budget surplus and then being intent on delivering one themselves
    - The bonuses flip
    - The 'stunt' of sending his troops to visit the homeless before day 1 of parliament
    - The rushed 'sorry' job that was years in the making and minutes in the framing (without releasing the words for the opposition's input). He had a mandate to say sorry - but not to write the thing himself - that's just self-glorification
    - The man must be the first in history to write his own book on the first 100 days! Rudd must have been having fantasies about this for years - and it's starting to show [/puke].

Chairman Rudd pandering to Chairman Mao followers killing people

If only the Tibetans were whales
    Andrew Bolt
    17 March 2008

Kevin Rudd is horrified by recent killings:

I don’t have a magic wand, but the Australian Government will do everything within our power to put pressure on the .... .... to bring this slaughter to an end.

Fill in those missing two words. Did he damn the:

A: “Chinese Government”, now killing Tibetan protesters.

B: “Japanese Government”, now killing whales.

Now contrast those fighting words with this mild caution:

...from my point of view, I would call upon the ... ... to exercise restraint.

Again fill in the missing words. Was Rudd tut-tutting the:

A: “Chinese authorites”, for killing people protesting its occupation of Tibet.

B: “Japanese authorites”, for killing animals for food.

Does something seem seriously out of whack here?
“The history of the 20th century is full of examples of countries that set out to redistribute wealth and ended up redistributing poverty.”
“There’s no point blaming the tragedies of socialism on the flaws or corruption of particular leaders. Any system which allows some people to exercise unbridled power over others is an open invitation to abuse, whether that system is called slavery or socialism or something else.”—Thomas Sowell

Before anyone has a stab at your question, do you care to answer the original? I appreciate that doing so is not your strong suit.
