    How many moves allowed when one king

    How many moves am I allowed to checkmate when my opponent has only a king.

    There is no limit other than the 50-move rule - if 50 moves (meaning move and reply, not each player's move counted separately) are made without a capture or pawn move by either player the game is drawn.

    If either of those events occurs the 50 move count restarts.
