Note that even our lovely PM did not name the country. May be because then he would have to explain what exactly is going on.

RE personal data breaches: No need for foreign countries to do it - just wait for the Victorian Labor party to reveal all .

The ex PM did mention it in his excellent book that came out a few months ago. China is sabotaging Australia and you consider it is a laughing matter?
Zionism is racism as defined by the UN, Israel by every dirty means available steals land and water, kill Palestinian freedom fighters and civilians, and operates an apartheid system to drive more Palestinians off their land

If its bullying...I can visualize it happening . After all the bullying of China that Australia has been undertaking. Other than that I do not see any reasons for Chinese to attack at a government level.

Major players like China, USA, Russia, Iran, India and Israel are developing their cyber-warfare capabilities. Australia is unprepared for a concerted attack, as has been demonstrated by Defence analysts

Defence has imagined modern warfare and Australia is not prepared

Whether we are prepared or not is another story. I suspect it is hard to have a ''knowledge-base'' similar to Russia or China (possibly Iran as well) simply because they are able to offer top benefits (that go well beyond pay) to IT security specialists who work with them. Re Australia: unless Government departments ''outsource'' IT Security Support, I am not sure they are able to offer enough to lure the top specialists...and the benefits for the specialists will certainly be limited to pay.

But re being a target. Other than ''bullying'' little reason for any of those nations to commit resources towards attacking us.

Michael, I think before we can actually even talk about exterior cyber bulling, I think we have to tackle cyber stupidity owed to forces other than foreign powers

I think Michael was talking about general bullying rather than cyber bullying. Though i accept i could be mistaken.

Australia is an attractive target - one of the Trillion-Dollar Club by stock exchange market capitalisation. Major cyber attacks are ongoing, plus social media manipulation attacks.

I think it's rather well known that emoticons such as denote indicate that one is joking!
