Purdy vs Purdy

A few weeks ago I read a post at my spanish site about a game between Cecil Purdy and John Purdy. It was the last round of an Australian Championship and Cecil needed a win to get the title and break the record of most national titles ever won.
Apparently it was hard fought struggle which John won.
I've been trying to find this game on several databases without luck. Does anyone know/have this game?

I guess it must be the 1960 game from Adelaide, as that one was played in round 12. (The one in Perth was played in round 8).

It may be the 1960 game but the story is wrong. There were 13 rounds in 1960 and Purdy's chance to win the title went with a loss to John Hanks in round 13. That was the tournament in which GMs Averbakh and Bagirov played and finished 1 and 2 but were not entitled to the title. It was won by Endzelins half a point in front of Koshnitsky and Cecil Purdy. Both K and P lost in rd 13 allowing E up to win. There is a full report of the event by Cecil in "Chess World" 1960 at pp 201 ff.

It isn't the 1963 game because John Purdy won the title in Perth 1963 with 9.5 while Cecil finished in an 8-way tie for third on 8. In between was Tan Lian An (Singapore) on 9.

Ok, so Cecil's chances vanished when he lost to Hanks in round 13, so obviously the details about round 12 being the last one were wrong. However, and correct me if I'm wrong, had he defeated John in round 12 no other australian player would have been able to catch him, so he would have won the title regardless of what happened in round 13. Right?

Sorry, Javier - I just realised that I made a mistake in reading the report which casts more doubt on this being the game you had in mind. There were actually 15 rounds in the Championship, not 13, so that there was quite a lot to happen after CJSP lost to JP in round 12. But one thing is clear, Koshnitsky had been ahead of Cecil until round 11 but at the beginning of round 12 they were equal. Then Cecil lost and Kosh won to go a point up again. From then on, the two of them still had chances of winning the title but even had Cecil won in round 12 Kosh would still have been equal with him with 3 rounds to play.

Hi - sortof off-topic I know but.. would you happen to know (or know where I could look) how many entered the 1986-87 Adsteam Lidums Aus Open held in Adelaide ???

I have in mind a certain number and I used to boast of it "I was one of xyz there" but I am quite hazy of it now
